Veg Fried rice ingredients

For Cooking rice

  • Rice -2 cups (basmati rice, soaked for 20 minutes)
  • Water -as required
  • Salt -to taste
  • Oil-½ tbsp

For cooking Veg Fried Rice

  • Oil -2tbsp
  • Garlic cloves -1tsp (chopped)
  • Ginger-1tsp (chopped)
  • Green chili – ½ no (chopped)
  • Onion-2tbsp (chopped)
  • Carrots – 2tbsp (chopped)
  • Cabbage-2tbsp (Chopped)
  • Beans – 2tbsp (chopped)
  • Red Capsicum-1tbsp (Chopped)
  • Yellow Capsicum-1tbsp (Chopped)
  • Green Capsicum -1tbsp (Chopped)
  • Salt- as per taste
  • Black Pepper powder – a pinch
  • Soya sauce-2tbsp
  • Vinegar-1tbsp
  • Water- a little or a dash
  • Spring Onions -¼ cup (Chopped)

How to make fried rice

Step 1: Process for Cooking Rice

  • Turn on the heat, take a heavy-bottomed pan, and add water for boiling, salt to taste, and oil and bring it to boil.
  • As soon as the water starts boiling. Add soaked basmati rice into it. Allow it to cook on medium flame until 70% cooked. Once the rice is cooked properly, strain the rice, and keep it aside for further use.

Step 2: Preparing veg fried rice

  • Heat oil in a pan and swirl it and make sure that the oil reaches every corner of the pan.
  • When the pan gets hot, add garlic, onion, ginger, and green chilies. Gently stir-fry the ingredients.
  • Now, we will add the vegetables including (carrots, cabbage, and Beans). Stir-fry and cook for a minute.
  • Then add the rest of the vegetables including (red capsicum, yellow capsicum, and green peas), and mix them well.
  • Add the cooked rice, sprinkle some salt on it, and a little black pepper powder. Evenly spread the soya sauce over it. Add little vinegar, and now saute the mixture gently.
  • Next, we will add a dash of water on high heat so that the rice will be easy to toss and will not get a break.
  • Mix the rice with vegetables for about 3 minutes.

Tips

  • Cook the rice 70% only rather than in one go as they will be cooked nicely in further steps.
  • Make sure you add the soya sauce on rice not on vegetables.
